Chassis Leg Cuple Of Questions

hi, im just doing some rust removal on the chassis leg and was wondering what this hole is for, its on the drivers side, under the two metal water pipe holes. Only there was alot of rust around this hole?

and what is this clip for where the subframe mounts? Can it be removed and cleaned or will i lose it in the body?

the hole is normal, and the captive nut you should remember, as the subframe was bolted to it

 

it can be removed easily, push the threaded end up out of the hole it sits in, slide forwards, tilt up then slide back out of the rectangle hole.

thanks welshpug i didn't realise the nut was connected to the clip in the rectangle hole

i was just concerned about the hole as it seems to be causing a lot of rust in that area.
