Using Banjo Type Fittings For Brakes?

I'v just been doing the brake lines on my motorbike, and they are so pleasant compared to the way the ones on the 205 are set up. They have a banjo type fitting that you put a bolt through, and the fluid goes through the bolt (not sure if thats a good enough description, but I'm sure somebody wil know what I mean)

Is there any reason why banjo type connections arent used instead of the standard connections on cars?

No reason why you can't do that aslong as you can get the banjo bolts

splendid, I think I'll go that route when I change the fronts for braided lines then :) I always find the standard fitting a faff to get in and not get the flexi twisted. Is it alright to run a braided flexi all the way to the master cylinder for the fronts?

Just to clear this up, Are you talking about 4 pots or cast brakes?

with the cast brakes you haven't a flat surface for the copper washers to seal against.

I was talking about standard 1.6gti calipers. I havent got one to hand at the mo so hadnt thought about the flat surface

2 min with a fine file and as long as you are not a chimp you've a perfectly acceptable sealing face.
