Hi lads I have a mint condition 1.9 gear knob just wondering what are they worth as they seem to go for mad money on eBay.

I didn't realise the gear knobs left the factory with some of the red circle flaking off at the bottom, but it says mint condition so they must have

I got one from my main dealer too £19.50 including vat now its in my car but because they are so precious now its still sealed in the dealer packet just poked it on the gearstick lol

I sold one in decent nick back along for £30 as that was what I was offered and I thought it was fair tbh.

 

Probably 'worth' more but it was going to a good cause and even at £30 I almost felt like I should have been wearing a mask when I accepted.

And it'll be worth a lot more if it's from one of the limited edition Sorrento or Miami models.

That's definitely a 1.6 knob.

Nope, it's a 1.9 - 1.6 have an insert with recessed details on the top, similar to base models (but red instead of base model white). 1.9's have the smooth/flush type as pictured at the top of the page.

 

 

That is a 1.6 GTi BE1 gearknob for example.

 

(this is true for the UK market anyway - no idea whether export markets differed)

Dunno what more to say.. they gearknobs do seem to have a habit of falling apart around the insert, and they arent available from Peugeot anymore, so prices are naturally going to start going up, however people will always still find bargains.

Unfortunately the french club got very close to reproducing gearknobs, including the red (or green) inserts in almost OE quality for a reasonable price, (circa £45) but quality control failed at the last min, and the group buy was cancelled
