Custom Exhaust In Hertfordshire /south East

Recommended Posts

christopher

Guys,

I'm coming to UK for a summer holiday and I plant to take the family in one of my Peugeot 405 T16's.

The plan is, to get a custom stainless exhaust fitted whilst I am here.

Does anyone have good experience or can recommend a good company to do this?

I was thinking of using these guys in St Albans who use powerflow (AFAIK) http://www.empperformance.com/

Thanks

Christopher

no idea on price as I have never had any work done personally, but quality and service second to none, lots of world titles and championships with his exhausts and chassis+cages.

Mike knows how to make race exhausts, not just make a pipe fit under a car which is what you get with the likes of longlife and powerflow.

drop him an email or PM.

I have seen his exhausts on a fair few JRE engines, which sandy maps, and one or two sandy brown engines.

These are the same guys that I mentioned in the beginning. http://www.empperformance.com/ They have just changed their name.

i didn't like the way they seemed to bend the pipes on the youtube video though.

It looks like it might reduce the diameter of the pipe.

Not sure if they still do that.

I wouldn't use powerflow myself, never heard a decent sounding system, I doubt you'll find many on proper race cars ;)

the silencers Mike uses can be repacked if required too.

306 gti6 exhaust Mike did recently

Don;t even think about using Powerflow, Rubbish and expensive, A system I had on a 205 was over £500.00 from the DP back, shame the welding was mild steel, Hmm

If you want a shiny exhaust then the St. Albans place will be fine. The other places will be more but better quality

There's a few top places in Aylesbury. Chris Tullett exhausts have made systems for the Chevrolet touring cars etc. for a one off they will not be cheap though.

Actually I don't care if it is shiny or not. I'm not interested in the bling. I'm interested in what works.

I looking to have a compromise between the best of two worlds:

  • An exhaust system that doesn't restrict my power too much (right now I'm running about 280bhp and want it to potentially handle around 450/500bhp)
  • That is relatively quiet (A bit more noise & character than standard is ok, but I don't want it booming a lot)
  • Is decent quality (I want it to last the test of time my magnex is probably over 15 years old now)

In fact I want to backbox to have a downcut tailpipe so that it won't even be seen (like standard).

The plan is for a 2.5 inch

Well they were quoting me around 1000k+ for a full system with a downpipe up to turbo  Doesn't sound cheap

Cheers
