Seam Sealer Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hello, after finding way to much rust around my headlight panels on the 205 i am now in the process of preparing the car for a respray and alot of rust removal, so far its gonna need a complete new front headlight panel from left to right, 2 new front wings, new passenger sill and the rot on the inner wings sorted.

Im looking for advice on what seam sealer to use around the headlight panel to inner wing joins as its pretty thick in places and really dont want to leave any little gaps for gunk to build up in and will also be using it to join the wings to the inners as well.

been taking alot of photos of my progress so will start a new thread when i can

thanks in advance.

I just used tiger seal as it can be painted over obviously.

Do you use Duffy's of Montrose of Montrose for parts? They have some old stock there that may help you if required.

Another vote for Tiger Seal, but any PU car body sealant will do.

Just make sure it's totally cured before painting over it.

tiger seal or 3m. if your wanting to brush it out in places to match oe finish use 3m spray sealer in a normal cartridge gun. this brushes out lovely and replicates oe finish spot on, around turret tops and flitch panels etc.

Have used tiger seal before on the join between the quarter and sill but in this case was thinking about using Dinitrol seam sealer, seems to get good reviews and can be applied with a caulking gun.

Im guessing Duffys you mean Duthies the Citroen garage, never even thought they may have old Peugeot stock. Will give them a call and see what they have.

thanks.

Yes that's the one, I bought a fuel pump relay and ignition amp of them recently, some Citroen parts cross over.

Lorna is the parts manager. Be no sills there I doubt as none are showing on the system.
