Peugeot 106 Help

Recommended Posts

TaffyTim

My friend has an auto 106 car that is cuting out when he's at lights. I checked his battery and alternator today and they both work well.

Whilst there I noticed this tube was perished. It seems to go from the air intake to the ticket cover. Could this be a problem?

Where can I get a new one from? Will gsf or euro stock this? If anyone has part number of know what it's calf if be grateful. Thanks

It should`nt make it cut out unless it has a MAF and i dont think any of the 106s do not sure but does it have an idle control valve?.If so might be worth giving that a clean .What engine is it ?.Does it have multipoint injection or single poing (like a carb) ,Might be able to just cheat and adjust the throttle cable slightly take it up a little probably not the correct way but it could be a quick fix

the pipe split is just a breather probably best to fix it or you`ll get a smell of oil vapour in the cab.

Ok thanks, he also has a lose plug that has been bodged back on with some elastic by the intake. This had half fallen off so maybe the car wasnt getting the right info from the air flow? I bodged it back on slightly better than it was to see him through.

Ps it was the 2 pin plug closest to the camera that was off

My old 1.1 106 used to cut out sometimes, usually at traffic lights, sometimes when I was changing gear. I replaced the idle control valve and it was much better behaved.

That breather leak will not help the idle valve controlling the idle speed, also they use a MAP sensor, either bolted directly to the inlet plenum or clipped to the bulkhead or near the ecu and with a vacuum hose.

the 2 pin plug is the air temp IIRC so shouldn't affect it massively.

Well worth cleaning the throttle housing on those, cures a lot of poor idle faults.
