one final thing motor clubs are always looking for marshals, i do as much as i can, it gets you close up to the cars and the action we have great time it is worth giving it a try.

anyone in the north east, there is a single venue rally at albamar barracks sunday just go and sign on you will get a job. it is a good day out.

Having recently built and developed/developing a road rally car that's used on rough derbyshire whites I would say as well as having everything in tip top mechanical order, musts are

Decent dampers

Tyres with sidewall protection ie, gravel tyres

Pads/brakes that will stand alot of heat and abuse

Sump and tank gaurd

Skidded exhaust

Spots

Rose jointed wishbones

Sturdy seat, belts and footrest for at minimum your nav

All the above will help you finish the rally, when you start getting faster you should be looking at;

Plated LSD

Decent handbrake

Cage

Power

I've learnt the hardway, I've cooked dampers, ovaled hubs, destroyed ball joints, cooked brakes, ripped trailing arms off the shafts, ripped filler necks off etc etc etc ????

Above all you'll want a well mannered,patient, understanding nav! If you find one let me know ???? love you Tom ????

No, no and no, but i'm quite good at rebuilding the engine, making rose jointed wishbones, and welding a sill on when you phone up in tears! ;)
