If I changed what side of the throttle body tps was I know it would run fron clockwise to anti clockwise could I just swap the two out side wires round the other way?

What sort of TPS?

The throttle switch found on an 8v / Mi16 wouldn't work properly, but changing the wire order would work fine for a variable TPS (as used on most modern cars) - it's common to do this on ITB setups for example depending on which end of the ITB's the TPS is mounted.

I'd don't see why the throttle switch wouldn't work. The idle switch becomes the full throttle switch and visa versa, so swapping the wires gets everything connected as it should be.

If you've belled one out with a multimeter, the WOT engagement point on the TPS is well before the throttle is fully open (more like 70-80%) and doesn't "click"

I guess that you could make it work if you were so inclined, but it wouldn't be ideal IMO and there potentially might not be enough adjustment to set the closed throttle position correctly or sufficient travel internal to the TPS to allow the throttle to open fully without hitting the stop inside the TPS.

XU10J2TE uses a typical variable TPS as far as I'm aware, not the switch type found on 8v's and 1.9 Mi16's.

He means its just a big variable resistor instead of the click-on then measure type like normal. so theoretically it will work back to front with the wires swapped around.
