Hi all,

Silly question but what are the differences between a bilstein and a Rousseau jack?

Thanks.

Hi

I think the bilstein is the 'arm' type and the Rousseau is the scissor type

One thing that's worth noting is that the mountings on the cars inner wing will depend on the type of jack that will fit, i.e. if you see a 'n' shape bracket then you need a Rousseau type jack, if their is no bracket then you will need bilstein type, I have learnt this the hard way and now have a spare bilstein type jack

Cheers for that..I've got a bilstein jack but I bought the screw to hold it under the bonnet online not realising that there is 2 different types of screw.

CTI's have 2 jack mount points and aircon cars can have the jack mounted under the drivers seat too (which is why there is often a cut in the carpet there)

Sorry for the slight hijac- does anyone know If the aircon jack location uses the standard CTi Rousseau jack? I would like to install mine under the seat at some point.
