Book Recommendations For Bodywork Repairs, Welding, Prep'ing, Etc

Recommended Posts

notamondayfan

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some recommendations on books for bodywork repairs, welding and pretty much anything else to do with bodywork and cosmetic repairs, for doing the typical repairs a 205 now a days requires!!

I've been more "mechanical" so far in car DIY'ing, keen need to learn more on the other side of things.

Cheers,

Dean

I would have thought youtube tutorials would be better, as video would explain stuff like that a lot clearer than a book could. However Frost (google it) have metal work videos, although they aren't cheap they are renown for being the best guide for panel beaters. I don't know if panel beating is what you were looking for, but it's a suggestion.

I'm kind of looking for something that gives a good overview of everything, and then I can look into the specialist areas when needed.

I was going to buy the Haynes Bodywork manual, but it had bad reviews.

I might look on youtube later, but i sometimes find video tutorials can be a waste of time and you're going off someone elses experiences which might be miss leading. Id prefer a well written book i can quickly reference when needed.

Cheers,

Dean

I bought the Haynes manual and actually still have it somewhere (if you decide to buy it?) and learnt a fair bit from it.

its mostly basic really but if you are new to it then it be ideal.

covers welding prep filling and painting, even a whole car respray
