Which 205's Didn't Have A Rear Anti Roll Bar?

Recommended Posts

I've bought a rear disk beam to refurbish so I can just swap it when complete and its as good as new on the inside, the outside was very rusty as ever however i've taken care of that already.

The good beam is the one with the negative terminal on it, the one with the positive terminal on it is a scrap 306 beam

But oddly its got plastic caps in the ends of the trailing arms so there's no anti roll bar, is this a common practice on a disk beam?

Anthony

No disk beams without ARB's that I'm aware of - the non ARB models were only the most boggo of boggo models.

Best guess is that someone has swapped the parts over to convert drum to disk.

Thanks for confirming that Anthony. Seems odd though and a bit pointless to me at least to go to all that trouble and not have the added safety of an arb in fact I didn't even realize it didn't have one until i stripped it down, didn't take much notice when i got it.

It did come apart quite easily tho, a hell of a lot easier than the 306 beam (which is why it ended up scrap) and the arm shafts are in good shape, bearings are tired and past it.

So yeah , more than likely that's why it is like it is.
