Leaking Oil Cooler Pipe?

Back again for more advice :) The top oil cooler pipe appears to be leaking from the union, this is a water cooled type where the oil filter is positioned by the gearbox. Now before I start trying to sort this is out, is it of any benefit or should I do away with it altogether? The unions are tight, is there a common issue with these or am I going to have to strip it and find out?
