If you're champion of Egypt I think you're doing ok, leave the engine alone..

Do you walk like an Egyptian?

It's far easier make cheap hp out of an XU10J4 than a GTi6. All you need is camshafts, decent aftermarket ECU and bigger injectors. Add GTi6 manifold or better still throttle bodies.

I believe Nour actually has XU10J4R engine. Doesn't it share same head lay-out as GTI-6. Or did Peugeot make 136 hp version of XU10J4 engine with "mi" type cylinderhead?

Anyways I would agree with petert. Get XU10J4 (S16 or 2.0 Mi) engine. It's strong and easy to tune. Just be sure to get proper baffled oil pan. If you want or need to keep the engine standard then get the GTI-6.

1.9 mi engine is the basis for proper competition engine, but it takes lot of money to make it sing.

In a 306 that age, its a no brainer to fit the rfs engine, its all bolt in swap and most parts will be readily available in good condition, same cannot be said of the less powerful rfy.

Granted the rfy had greater potential ten years ago, but theyre all knackered now, so need money spending on them just as the rfs would.

You can still pick up an RFY for peanuts out of a low km car. Fit cams, tb's and aftermarket ECU and you have a budget screamer.
