Pas Ram Cover

I'm installing a xsara pas rack in the GTi. The xsara pas ram has a orange bag over it which has a number rips in it! Should I get another bag, or there a better cover for the ram?

I cut the poxy bag off mine and threw it away. 205's and 309's use effectively the same ram with no cover at all.

That was my idea, but thought it might be an MOT fail without it.

Thanks Tom

I did try and find a part number for this on the Citroen service box but it's not listed.

I enquired at the citroen garage when I was ordering boots etc for my vts rack, and apparently the ram protector only comes with a new ram, and isnt available as a seperate part.

My problem has been solved then! Orange bag in bin, and don't replace! Job done! Not what I was expecting, but question answered.

Thanks guys

Not looked at mine in any detail yet as I still got lots of other things to do first, but I did think about using a small rack gaiter or fork gaiter.

I've seen people use rubble sacks cable tied on.

Each 306/Xsara rack I've ever looked has had a torn cover which held water and crap so removing it completely can't be any worse.

I was planning to glue a rubber sheet into a tube and cable tie it on, but if its not needed, I might not bother!

A push Bike inner tube cut up may be a solution.

Found this whilst searching - anyone come up with a decent substitute, or still running without..?

I've used a rack boot before and put holes in it to allow it to breath

No I haven't. Subject came up on Aussiefrogs a while back so I thought I'd post it as a suggestion.

A rack boot sounds promising though.
