Drivers Door Won't Lock

Recommended Posts

starky5

Bit of an odd one, I'm changing my door locks so I only need 1 key for the car. Now with the old door lock it will lock the car on the central locking but when I fit my replacement I doesn't. It doesn't set off the central locking and it doesn't even lock the drivers door.

It's like it's not turning far enough, looking at both the lock barrels together the old one does turn a tiny bit further.

Is there and way to adjust the mechanism to get it working? It all seems to be fixed length rods so I could think how to sort it.

Thanks for any help

Is the plastic part on the end of the lock worn/sloppy? When they are, you can get a similar issue, as a portion of the key movement is taken up by the slack in the plastic rather than moving the locking rod.

I thought that might be worn, there is a large amount of movement in the plastic before either lock barrel moves it. Are these available new do you know?

According to Servicebox you can get the complete new locks and keys from Peugeot still. You'll need the ID number of the key/lock though to be able to get it obviously.

£57.05 for the lock

£116.29 for the lock and key!!
