Nice to see someone trying to save one rather than just the usual breaking thread! Wouldn't mind a 309 myself!

Ant - I need this car in my life - now!

Have you picked it up yet?

When you have let me know I am dying to have look at it and take it off your hands, as I mentioned!

On a serious note I'd like to see the paint under all that s*ite.

I have a four door Goodwood, and will be breaking it, so if you need Goodwood specific parts then let me know as it has everything specific left on it.

Jeremy i need an engine this one has a cracked cylinder and a badly damaged piston and head.

also need the plastic cover for the towing eye on the front.

Stu, im picking it up when i get an axle and engine, don't have anywhere to put it at the moment, ive cut a deal with andy so just need a engine then i will pick it up 1 weekend then take it for an MOT.

Theirs a couple of bad points, Rust on the bonnet underside where it catches the bonnet catch, also about a 2" rust strip on either side of the boot catch on the inside, other than that the car is solid as a rock no rust on sills or inner wings or boot floor. Axle is dead too!

Jonny that does look like rust on the pictures but its actually plantation and wildlife.

The story of this car goes past down in family was going to be a project but cant get a licence due to a developed illness (he was gonna scrap it before i turned up) He now holding onto it as i told him my situation and hes happy for it to stay as its not causing any bother.

Wooden ones were only a optional extra, the one you have is original.

MOT?? Are you crackers Ant?

The brakes will be shot and all the rubber hoses perished - if it passes I will be amazed.

I already sorted a parking spot for a car I was looking at a few months ago (a Goodwood to be stored at my brother's house) before the Mrs threatened me with divorce if I bought it....... I quite like being married as it happens.

I will bide my time and when the winter comes have this off you..........

I reckon given the chance (with no come backs) you would trade your misses for a 309Gti Goodwood or some seats

Yeah gotta get them to tell me what needs doings after it runs and gets an axle, i will replace the brakes for the time been! Andy said check the lines under the tank but ive got loads of brake lines lying around that just need to be made up, so thats not really the issue. bushes and bones are my conserns.

By the way... Stu i will be inclined to let you keep the 309 on your drive, but not sure if i wanna sell it on to some one who will look after it or keep it for myself?

But i will offer an eye for eye favour i buy it you look after it and store it.. of course it comes with the privilages of polish and wax every week and a drive to keep it fit lol that way your misses wont bother you so much and you still get to enjoy it! to be honest if i deside to keep it in the long run which i really am thinking about doing i wont be driving it around. i just want it for shows etc

Mmmm - I prefer the 'Stu you can have it for what I paid for it, as I have another car in 1000 pieces that I need to finish off and I now have to admit that I have bitten off more than I can chew. Oh and you are in luck as it has an engine in at and the rear beam is fixed too, but I'll throw those 2 items in for free!!!'

I live in hope.....

Can you drop me a text next week as I'd like to go and have a look at it as I am a nosey bastard!

LOL!

Yeah i probly have biten off more than i can chew. but at the moment im determined to make as much cash as i can doing this second job!

The choice is yours stu! Either have a 309 that could one day be yours or it will end up me paying out for a bigger garage to store the 205 and 309 in!

Anyway think about it, if not ive got afew other places for the time been and it can live under a car cover. where you wont be able to sniff the seats and sexually stroke its paint work

You make me laugh, you do.

Therein lies the issue Ant, I don't think you will make money on this car unless you do the wrong thing and break it. It will cost £1000 plus to get it to a decent condition.

At the very least it needs brakes/beam/tyres/wheels/paint

Unless it has done really low miles it will not be worth a massive abount of money. I almost(in my head)bought a tidy one with

100K miles for £1200, 12 months or so ago.

Have I persuaded you yet?! If you say yes, I am buggered as the Mrs will kill me!

I might just say yes then so long as i can watch your misses face when you tell her! I will bring the pop corn and a sleeping bag for you cause you will be sleeping in it that night :D

Well this one has 104k on it, paint, wheel refurb, axle, engine etc will all be done and it has 1 dent in the whole car! i can borrow the brakes from the 205 for now!

I will eventually do to it what im doing to the 205... But not all at once like i have done with the 205!

I don't think it'll take a grand, if you do it all yourself ;)

I found tha tpicking up a base model beam for £40 and bunging all the gti stuff over with new consumables was the easiest route, the goodwood wheels cleaned up nicely with simply elbow grease, brake hoses are only £6 a piece, a full roll of brake pipe is a tenner, standard brake parts are cheap.

also boggo 8 valver lumps are cheap.

damn good scrub and paint the bonnet and spoiler, job done :D

I want one of andy's axles and already discussed it with him ive even got one of his on the 205!

ive got 1 question about the engine, are the engines different in the Goodwoods... power wise? or they the same 120-135 mark?

They're the same D6A 128 bhp engine.
