Krish 2 1 Cars Posted June 9, 2013 I recently got some rubber mud flaps for the front of the car and was wondering how they fit on and what this 'fitting kit' is. If i've missed it in a thread then please point me in the right direction Cheers

stufarri 98 3 Cars Posted February 11, 2014 There are 2 front fixings, upper and lower. The upper is a steel fixing bar that screws into the inner wing about 6" or so in - if no mudflaps have ever been fitted to the car the bolt is under the underseal and needs to be removed to allow the threads to accept the fixing. The lower fixing is is a 'C' shaped bracket that screws through the flap and fastens to the welding seal on the sill directly behind it. Hopefully you can make sense of this - picures would be better but I don't have any, sorry! You can't really fit non genuine flaps onto a 205 GTI easily as the fixing are not that straightforward.
