Id Parts On Clean Up

Recommended Posts

I decided to degunge the 205 before it goes for MOT. Have you ever heard the smiths song "I've started something I couldn't finish"?

Don't tell the rspca but I think I've disturbed the habitat of several life forms previously unknown to science. Don't leave a car sat mostly idle for nearly 2 years is the moral of the story.

Anyway. I took the headlamps out to get shut of the algae built up on and around them and had a peep down behind the bumper. And saw this...

Can someone tell me what it is? And as its made by maserati is it giving me 20 more bhp? ; )

Also noticed this just hanging down on top of my secret maserati component...

Which looks like a thermostat, but where is it supposed to be as its not measuring much there!

Yes I am ashamed of the state of it. I'm working on it!

Ah! That's why my car has an italian (not french) accent when it honks!

Mystery solved.

Cheers :)

the resistor should be on a metal clip just above the compressor.

No metal clip, but some rusty remains of where one may have been. The compressor wasn't on very well either - one bolt which wasn't tight and snapped in half when I attempted to. It's secure now and dropped some oil in the compressor. Lifetime guarantee it says on it.

If i were to go all max power now I could have maserati badges on my wings. The guy who did my head work builds maserati engines too. So I estimate it to be 0.17% italian supercar :)

Does the compressor still work?

Most give up, and give a sound from the horns more akin to Noddy's car!

I think it does you know. Battery off but will check tomorrow. If not I'll pop down the ferrari/maserati dealer in manchester to claim on my lifetime guarantee!
