Gti-6/ 406 V6 Wiring Diagram

Recommended Posts

dave205

Hi all, i havent been on here for ages, but im just starting some work on a project i started a year ago! Im after a wiring diagram/pucture of the 2 black round engine loom plugs with detail of what each pin corresponds to. Im also after the same for the commonly used 406 v6 engine, its the earlier d8 non multiplex engine from an s-reg coupe that i have. Any help appreciated!

that will get you a fair way with it given you are specifically interested in engine to car loom rather than engine itself.

1CO2A and 1CO2B on the second diagram are the two plugs.

23v is 23 way, or pins, MR and GR are the colour codes for the plugs.

worth reading this bit first as it explains a lot about the diagrams.

So that engine loom pic you've posted is for the 406 v6 engine loom?

Ive traced all the cables out on the 406 engine loom, from the red and grey round plugs that plug the engine loom in, back to each of the sensors etc on the loom, if you get me?

I just need to work out which pins on those plugs require earth, permanant live, switched live etc.

Also would anyone on here have a diagram or list of where each pin on the 306 round plugs go? And a list of which need earth, permanant live, switched live, as above really.

And finally, when the 496 engine was removed, the ignition was on and the ecu was un plugged, will this mean the ecu is unlocked? If so how do i prevent it re-immobilising?

I take it your fitting the V6 engine into a 306. I do have details of the 2 round multiplugs on a 306 but need to know the year and engine as they vary a bit.

That diagram isnt for the V6, however as Welshpug said it does show the pinouts for both 23 pin round connectors. They are IC02A and IC02B.

Yeah cheers ade ive done a bit more on the loom, forgotten how long it takes. Most of the sensors are connected, just need to make sure i put permanant and switched lives and earth to the correct remaining wires on the 406 loom. There is 25 cables left to go through :/. If i put power to any wire starting in bb the engine should run?
