Tu5J4 Wiring Problems

Recommended Posts

I have read on here that need to give 12v to pins 8,11 and 2 of the relay box am I doing this correct as I have no spark? I have powered the fuel pump separately which is working.

yup, those three pins should have 12v permanent, pin 14 is the switched live.

no idea what you're up to in the pic, but that's not the way to do it

Thanks for confirming that.

Are there any other pins or places that need live or earthing for the engine to start/run?

How do you send live to those pins if not through the relay as show.

The wires going in to the relay are 12v live wires.

Again, any help would be great!

Thanks.

To power the relay up just connect the wires that go to those pins.

If you wish to temporarily bypass the relay to eliminate it from your diagnosing of an issue you need to give 1 4 5 and 13 a live feed and it "should" start afaik.

Gotcha. Do you know where the other end of the pins is? Or the wires that go to those pins as you put it?

As I said, the wires shown in the photo go to a live feed so I am sending 12v down them?

Thanks again.

do away with those wires, connect the wires in the wiring loom to a 12v supply, fit the relay.

Which wires in the loom are you referring to?

I don't know where the other end of the pin is/the wires that lead to the pins.

I have beeped out the relay with the bare end wires on the loom that used to go to the inside of the car with no luck. None of those wires go to the relay.

Thanks for your responses!

those red orange and grey wires, some of those will be the ones you need.

BB14, BB16 and BB17

switched live is CC2.

They don't go inside the car, they should be connected to the shunt box, can;t remember how the 106 loom is routed, but I think they go through the big round plug then the engine bay fusebox.

Ok I'm following most of that.

Not sure on anything called a shunt box though?

Could I cut the wires just before the relay and send 12v to there? Rather than finding the end?

As I said, I've not had any luck with any if the bare end wires left in the loom which used to be the big round plug you mentioned.

Thanks, sorry if I'm seeming a little simple here!!

Also what about earth's? I've earthed the chassis/engine but presume the ECU and possible other bits need earthing also before success?
