Hi I have been offered a gti 6 engine in good condition and I have a 1.9 engine with a lot performance parts to add to it.do u think it would be worth selling off the 1.9 and use the gti 6 or do u think I would be better off with the 1.9 as I have a lot of performance parts for it.

Depends what you want really - GTi-6 will almost certainly be more powerful and have more potential, but not best suited to competition use for example.

Having owned both and currently driving a gti6 version. I'd pick the gti6 every time.

I'm going to be using it for a few track days every year and a small bit of road use.i have a rally cam,ported and polished head ,45 carbs,ss full exhaust and a baffled sump and a full rebuilt kit including new pistons ,new piston rings ,updated head gasket.im just wondering when I have everything for the 1.9 is it worth selling everything for a gti6 engine.the gti6 is standard at the minute.

Stick with the 8v, Tuned and in good condition performance will be better
