What dealer supplied the car? Can they not knock you up a set?

Any plate making machine will print anything. You only HAVE to show the postcode

send the artwork or text to any of the custom number plate makers and they will sell it to you as a "sign"

I can't remember who it was, but they copied the original number plate and used the Peugeot talbot logos along with with dealers phone number.

So even though the number played were new, they looked like they were the original dealer plates from the '90s

Don't forget the typeface has changed slightly as has the character sizing.

I recently came across a company who did the earlier typeface - but I'm sorry to say I forget who it was.

As mentioned the best thing to do would be to find the original logo/tag it would have had at the time and get that created and sent to a company who can print it on the bottom.

BS marking also.

There was a someone on here. i think she was called Ktm_Kate. Restored a base model 205 really well. She got dealer style plates I think and tax disc holder and stickers I think. Fortunately, I have the original plate from 1989 with the dealer name, phone number and font fitted to mine. This will make it easy to copy.

Just seen this thread and can happily confirm DMB should be able to do it, as they do a lot of that sort of reproduction work for the Ford RS owners :)

They did a set of plates for me when I had my RS Turbo a few years ago :)

You can also get fake tax disc's to recreate the original one from the day it was new.

If you want any more details I will ask my mate were he gets them from. ( RS owners club I think) The RS owners club can be very anal with there concourse stuff.

Being a member of the RSOC myself, I would have to agree with this

I think it might be DMB that does the discs as well tbh. There was a, now former, member called Chris Latham who used to do that sort of work, but he got caught last year for taking people's £££ and rarely supplying any items as he'd taken on too much work alongside his own full time job. It later emerged most of the work he was offering was basically all farmed out to people like DMB, Tremona Garage, etc, anyway and then he added about 25% on top of their prices - quite a few unhappy members after that :(

There was a huge thread on this on Retro rides, someone had found the original font used for plates circa 1985-1990 and someone to press them.

Craigs plates are good too, I've got some pressed (raised letters) ones on mine,

If anyone needs artwork created i can probably help out. Can't supply finished plates, tax discs etc but can do the drawing bit as I'm a graphic designer.
