Standard Manifold Vs 421 205 Gti6

Recommended Posts

jamie_1992

i currently have the standard exhaust manifold for the gti6 engine in my 205

i have recently broken up a mi16 engined 205 and it had a 421 manifold fitted. it appears to have the extra holes in the flange to fit to a gti6 head but i am yet to size it up to a spare head i have

my question is what advantage (if any) would fitting a 421 manifold have over a standard?

The extra holes are there so it fits 2.0 Mi16's (xu10j4) aswell as the 1.9 (xu9j4) - The 2.0 mi16 has 10 exhaust studs like the gti6. Unsure if it can also be used with the gti6 head - would be interested in your findings if you do size it up.

I don't think it fits but stand to be corrected. Also standard manifold is good to about 230bhp

Port spacing is different on the R and RS heads, Block is taller as well but the S16 is as well, which is why they also do not really fit these engine's although some will say they do

Thats a maniflow one with the extra metal bits welded on

I'd say the gti6 one would be better than that manifold anyway
