Starter Not Kicking

Recommended Posts

richystran

Just put my 205 all back together after modifying the engine and now the starter will not turn over. I have tested the starter and it will kick and spin, so thats not the problem. I have cleaned the earthing points etc so i dont think its it. The solenoid wire puts a spike of power when i turn the key, so it "should" kick the starter. Would there be maybe a problem with the multiplug (power not getting through right) or maybe the earths are not right? Cant figure this out! Thanks

I guess you have checked voltage with a multimeter, you need to load test it.Check the solenoid wire with a bulb, you can have voltage but no current, just get a bulb and attach a couple bits of wire to it,if it doesnt light the bulb and the earths are all good i would think it would be the brown plug above the gearbox, have a check of that.Just work your way back with the bulb untill it lights up.
