that's what it says on the log book,yes i thought that wasn't right so not sure why that date is on there

Is the B registration a personalised plate? It is probably worth applying to the DVLA for the full history - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/v888-request-by-an-individual-for-information-about-a-vehicle

check the floor pan ie under the drivers seat , very early ones are different

year of manufacture 1985............not sure whats gone on there, but anywhoo................its an early one and its not a personalized plate

Well I guess the VIS (serial number) of the VIN is the real definition of earliest.

 

Year (AM) Starting VIS

1983 = D 5000001

1984 = E 5065001

1985 = F 5350001

1986 = G 5820001

1987 = H,0 7330001

1988 = 0 7900001
