Driving Lights Operation

Can anyone confirm that my driving lights should only operate with my main beam and as standard there should be no function to have normal dipped HL and driving lights on at the same time (which seems normal) as my owners manual says they only operate when you pull on the main beam????

that is correct, I cannot imagine why you'd want a driving lamp to operate at any other time.
