Xsara Vts Fitting Questions

Recommended Posts

Jarrus

I have a VTS rack which i was using on my 306 and want to use it on my 205,

i read somewhere a while ago i would need a part off the xsara/306 steering column not sure what it was so i kept the whole thing,

i would prefer to use it without PAS, if possible if i cant do that then what else could i use? 106/saxo seems to be the thing but i have no idea on how to plumb them in...

any help would be much appreciated

thanks again

Brett

  • Use a late 205 non-PAS lower steering column/UJ (square drive)
  • Use 205/309 track rods (or you can cut the Xsara ones down and cut the TRE's to match, but I don't like that)
  • If you want to remove the PAS, disconnect the pipes and remove the ram, ideally blocking the holes
  • If you want to run the PAS, you can use the pipes for a 205 PAS rack on a Phase 1 VTS rack - on a Phase 2, you'll need to use P2 Xsara or other late models (eg Berlingo) pipes that suit your particular application, if there is any.
