Afm- Question!

Recommended Posts

Ok so leading on from my flat perormance issue-- it seems abit better now but im wondering how long does a AFM last before it needs the contacts on the internal track moving?

Ive been looking at the post on adjusting them.- Ive got a 1.6 AFM in the shed so i took the lid off it and could see the score marks where the wiper arm passes back and forth but as far as i know this afm is ok- its off a 90K car.

As my pug is now on 228K im wondering how deep those track marks can go before causing a potential problem?

Does anybody have any idea

thanks

Paul

wouldn't hurt to move them over maybe, especially on a 228K car!

Just to know they're making good solid contact would help remove any suspicions that this might be cause of any running issues. I did it using a guide online somewhere, was really straight forward, think it was a guide written by Damir on here maybe?

Your 228k is 100k more than my car when the afm definitely required retracking; it was not running well long before that, but the previous owner didn't know how to fix it. It ran much better after I did it. I used a guide for the Porsche 944 afm, which is similar to the 205 one.
