Fitting Goodrich Braided Brake Hoses - Help Please!

Recommended Posts

SkyQuake

Dear All,

Thanks to Wah, I now have a set of Goodrich braided brake hoses for my 1.9 GTI. Unfortunately, as they're used, they have no fitting instructions, and I have now got stuck on how to fit them. I was expecting them to be an exact replacement for the OE ones, because that's what they're sold as on eBay, but my set seems to be somewhat different.

There are no problems with the front ones, as they are obvious and drop right into place, but the rears don't have the same mounting interface for the spring clips.

As you can see, not only do they not have the shoulder for the spring clip, but they also pass right through the hole in the mounting brackets. So how are they supposed to be fixed in place? Am I missing a set of special clips or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to resort to cable ties!!

Many thanks,

Mike

they don't look to have any clear coating which the goodridge also have.

Many thanks for all your responses chaps. Looks like I have an set which is not suitable for the application. I'll have to go back to Wah and see how he wants to rectify the situation.

Dear All,

Just to let you know that this has all been cleared up. Wah had no idea that they weren't genuine, as he hadn't tried to fit them himself. He has therefore graciously refunded the money, so all sorted.

Thanks again for your responses.

Mike
