Help Required For My Iveco Lorry

Recommended Posts

As per title really. It is an s reg 6 cylinder 6 litre 7.5 tonne horsebox. The exhaust brake has been diconnected as they can cause the horse to kick off when making a noise. Now due to changes with vosa it must be removed. Now I am more than sure I can do this but have no idea what im looking for. So help much appreciated.

You are looking for a flap and actuator on the exhaust somewhere. Best thing about trucks is you can have a good old look around without needing to jack up as you can just crawl under.

it'll be pretty close to the turbo on the right hand side of the engine from memory, though the Majority of these Eurocargo's I've worked on were the smaller 4 cylinder 4 litre Tector 75E15, not the larger 6 litre 75E18

I'm not sure if any did not come with an exhaust brake, I think your best bet is to visit a truck parts supplier and look through the cataloguers, if you're lucky you can just swap the downpipe for one that bolts straight up to the turbo.

as above it will be just after the turbo usually a air operated cylinder operates the flap, you may just be able to swap the downpipe as said already, I can get you a picture of a exhaust brake tomorrow while in work if you want?(not iveco but there all very similar)

why not just fix it back in place and not use it when you are loaded?

All very helpful. A picture would be great, as this will then give me an idea as to what to look for. As for reconnecting it I'm all up for that if very simple to do, however my only concern is i would have to keep doing this every year. also would this then involve another test which it could then fail?
