Rear Bumpstop - Mot Fail?

Recommended Posts

MikeM

Evening all,

Just a quick question for someone in the know. Is a missing rear bumpstop an MOT fail?

I have an MOT booked for Saturday. I still have the old bumpstop and I could tack it back on if need be. However, if it is not a failure then I would prefer to leave it off until the new one that I have just ordered arrives.

Cheers

Mike

You cant fail a missing bumpstop, only fail criteria is insufficient clearance.

Well, it nearly made it through! The last thing he tested was the emissions, which failed! He allowed me to adjust the mixture and try again but was still to high on the hydrocarbon reading. Only advisory was a slight rumble from the front offside wheelbearing. Its fitted with twin 40 dellortos and a Newman 290 cam, so not sure what to do with it now!
