Sensor Identification

Recommended Posts

Gman

Hi all,

I'm yet to grab a photo of it, but I've just taken delivery of a phase 2 VTS rack along with the accompanying high and low power steering pipes.

However, I've noticed a blue sensor fairly close with the pump end of the high pressure pump. I assume that this simply monitors the fluid pressure, but I'm not sure if my existing GTI6 loom has the relevant plug for it?

Anyone else running this setup and have this sensor, or am I a one off?

Cheers

There will be wires for it somewhere in the loom but usually the plug is chopped off and the wires hidden in conversion looms ( at least that's what i have done). Basically it monitors fluid pressure and raises the revs slightly to prevent stalling when you put load on the pump. As said its not really necessary.

Thanks

I'm already running power steering, and I presently have no problems with it cutting out so all should be fine then. I've got a 'spiky' loom, so I doubt he would have chopped the dormant sensor out.
