Testing Cooling Fan Switch

Recommended Posts

Anthony

I don't know how well that's going to work with the hotter thermostat, as the thermostat opening temperature (88/89 degree) is slightly higher than the switching off temperature for the slow speed on that particular fan switch (switches off at 87 degrees). It might be OK, but equally, it might be that the fan is reluctant to switch off once it comes on.

You might be better with the standard radiator thermoswitch, which is Intermotor 50106 - this switches off at 92 degrees, comfortably above the thermostat opening temperature.

50092: Slow on 92, off 87. Fast on 97, off 92

50106: Slow on 97, off 92. Fast on 101, off 96

Ok thanks for the info, one final question! Am I right in thinking I can't get a cooler stat? Would be nice to get a slightly cooler stat and use the switch I've just got. If not ill pick up a different switch

Thanks
