Maybe a silly question and I'm sorry ! Tried to search and didn't get an idea .

What is the job of Rear Beam Bump Stop ? How to check if they are in good condition/failed?

How can I know for sure they are O.K ? It's part of my investigation of the whistle sounds when driving / over bumpers / rough road.

Stops the rear arms swinging into the chassis.

 

Put four people in your car.

Drive over bumps at speed.

Note the rubber against plastic sound as the tyre meets the rear valence.

Bump stops stop that amongst some more important things...................

Just check they are fitted;

 

 

Normally there will be a gap between the radius arm & the bump stop unless your car is seriously lowered or full of people etc.
