hello there..

i've a car fitted with a Mi16 2.0L(RFY) engine and i've an unused Mi16 1.9L(DFW) engine... can i swap the bottom end using the 1.9L? can this be done? which timing belt shall i use...2.0 or 1.9...is there any advantage by doing this...

thanks

Yes you can use the 1.9mi aluminium block and it's internals with 2.0 mi16 head. The 2.0 and 1.9 cylinder heads are 99% identical.

You can also use 1.9 crank with 2.0 block, conrods and pistons. That will make great budget engine with lots of torque.

hello,

thanks to all..

once i've 405 Mi16 1.9L..with a spare engine(1.9) but recently the car has totalled...burnt due to short circuit... :(. previously i'd purchased a citroen 16v (Mi16 2.0) but the engine is not as nippy as the 1.9..so i thought maybe i can use the 1.9 block...but which cam belt should i use..1.9 or 2.0...thanks for the info

Fix the engine management issues and keep the ZX, I find the 2.0 just as good as a 1.9 and makes more torque, better engine management too.
