Any Interest In Gear Linkage Bushes. Ma Boxes

hi guys,

first off apology's if im in the wrong section, thought it wouldn't be relevant if i posted in the group buy section yet as this has not fully got off the ground just yet.

 

just gauging interest at the minute to see if there is any one who might be after a l linkage bush kit from BBM for cars with a linkage like this.

 

it is similar to the one found on his site, currently the one he has is predominantly for the gti models fitted with the BE box which most people probably already know.

 

anyway the story started when i bought this bush kit from BBM oblivious to the fact it would not fit my car, as its a XS. i just assumed it would work

But after inspection once removed, I found that the linkage i have is taller than the centre sleeve supplied (as its for a different fitting)

So i contacted Stuart at BBM who told me that i bought it incorrectly what a tit that made me feel

 

So he is going to knock me one up to trial and see what the fit is like. if all is well he mentioned that he may offer them for sale on his site. i mentioned to him about seeing if i can cook up some interest so that a batch can be made up, once they are perfected obviously

on another note i still haven't received the package, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow fingers crossed.

Without trying to pee on anybody's fire as this is just a general question of interest..... couldn't you use an Oilite bush or similar? http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/Oilite__Bearing_Bushes_-1011-c

That is precisely what is used by the BBM XU/XUD kit (and factory fit ZX/306/Xsara) however the BBM sleeve and bolt is shorter than the TU, the bushes would be the same.

That's correct Welshpug, Stuart is sorting out a sleeve for me to replace the bolt and plastic bushes originally fitted. As long as it works, we will have lift off.

 

its just an idea as i know a few people have non gtis on here. So

well after mailing stu at bbm on monday it turned out that he had not sent the part out to me, as he'd been so busy at work it had slipped his mind.

 

anywho on Wednesday i got the parcel

Then i fitted it to the linkage

 

Gotta say it was (in the words of goldmember) toight like a tiger

It could fit your 106, depends if it has the same size linkage. Isn't there already a kit out for the 106 gti though?

no it wont fit a 106 or a saxo, they dont have a subframe for this to bolt to.
