Brake Travel

Recommended Posts

NFS

Hi all,

i have made new brake lines all round and have removed and refitted the brakes, i have bleed the brakes and the pedal is firm, and holds firm, and no leaks. however i took the 205 for a spin around my workshop yard and the pedel travel is quite far for what i would expect. it brakes and brakes well. just seems to be more travel than i would expect there to be, i think i have the standard 1.9 brakes with braided hoses all round.

could it just bee a little bit of air still in the system?

Sounds like it - with a standard setup, there shouldn't be excessive travel on the pedal.

Yeah thats what i thought, i used two different makes of DOT4 brake fluid to fill the tank and bleed the system, could this cause the travel>?
