Changing Rack U Joint

I'm using a pas rack from my 309 with round end but my 205 u joint is the square type.

Can the u joint be changed or just swap the coloums over, wasn't sure if the 309 coloum is any longer. If that's the case I'll need to swap the ing barrels and steering wheels over :-(

just change the u joint be easier than swapping columns do you have a splined u joint ? You will need a pas one though manual rack ones are longer.

Just swap the lower column for the 205/309 PAS one to go with the rack.

 

There's three types of column:

 

Early 205 non-PAS (spline)

Late 205 non-PAS (square)

205 PAS (spline, but different length to the non-PAS spline)

 

205 and 309 lower columns are the same.
