Fuel Smell When Filled Over 1/2, No Leaks

Recommended Posts

EZ Tutty

When ever I fill my 205's fuel tank over half way I get a strong smell of fuel outside the car, most notible on the drivers side, theres no smell inside.

I've been under the car a few times in search of a leak and can find nothing

Breathers etc appear to be in place and the fuel filler hose is connected and not leaking.

Anything I can check?

Surely the breathers are there for the "swell" in summer time??

I know officially its just turned British summer time, but the weather is not really sufficient for the breathers to be breathing at the moment are they??

Where does the air go when you fill the tank???

The same place my fuel seems to when I press the loud pedal??

That would be right when you are still at the garage and filling up, but the way I read the original post was that it was after te car had been driven away from the garage?? Maybe my mistake though??

The breathers do like to perish for a past time. What fuel lines are you running?
