Are there cheap places to get these or is it better to stick to a brand?

I don't think I'd ever steer from a major brand such as AP/Alcon/PF. There is little between them, I believe (from a good source), the metal make-up is near enough identical, but you can tell looking at my new AP's the material make-up is quite special compared to your normal road discs. If you're after serious performance, which since you're talking floating I guess you are, I personally wouldn't scrimp...
