Beam Bearings From Peugeot

Recommended Posts

Has anyone bought individual bearings from Pug recently?

I've been looking through my box of bits & some how have an odd number & need to buy one inner & outer to complete another full set.

I wondered if anyone knew what they are selling atm, Nadella style with the correct number of rollers to match my odd pair or the later design german branded rollers as supplied in the 306 kits (inner bearing at least) with fewer rollers as discussed in this topic

I want to another of each but only if they are matching the those I already have.

I've a french made Torrington outer bearing in the later branded bag and another Torrington in a 2009 stamped bag.

Also got some German made INA inner bearings manufactured late 2012.

Not overly useful information other than an observation that be it 2009 old stock or recently made - it's quite likely that Torrington branded ones are possibly commonly provided.

Can't speak for currently, but the last OE 306 "kit" that I bought towards the end of last year was the same as they've been for a while - lower needle count inner, and an original outer bearing. I don't know how long that kit had been sitting in stock though, so probably best treating it with a pinch of salt.

As you stated on a previous thread Anthony about the inners having 5 less and generally not taking as much of a hammering like the outers shouldn't be as much of a concern as it would be if it was INA outers with 50% less needles. I fully intend to strip mine down periodically to keep on top of it as best I can.

That reminds me - I'll be in touch over the weekend about those TB's.

Yeah, thanks.

I don't need the full kit as I have enough of the cups etc just an inner & outer bearing & a few of the seals to use up the extra bits & start on the jimistdt sourced kits I have but it looks like I'll just go straight to the kits if the quality of the pug bearings can't be guaranteed.:(

Anyone know how Jimi did such an awesome deal with those kits or where he sourced them?

Type in search : KS559.08

I'm pretty sure they are the same bearing kits that came with the trailing arm shafts from Poland which kezzer got for his beam rebuild & they are the same as Anthony (& Miles) mention the current batch of bearing kits for the 306 from peugeot come with that have fewer rollers in the inner bearing. :(

The Peugeot kit isn't far off £22 either.

i bought over 35 sets of the nadella outer bearings from a company in scotland, that sourced them from italy.

weren't cheap, but at least they are a continuous ring of needle rollers

I bought the whole set seperately from my main stealer last summer, the outer bearings are the proper full ones but the inner ones are the lesser ones. Not fitted them yet as i've not had the time

Yes, it'll be me who will be continuing this if it's still available. Need to get it rolling

Now then Graham. I can let you know how the 'Poland' bearings hold up after I fit the 306 beam I've finished rebuilding next weekend:

Andrew,

I've already used a set of the trailing arm shafts & bearings sourced from Poland in Kezzers beam last weekend.

I've covered it in this topic, only time will tell how they hold up but I can't see them failing any quicker tbh.
