Ha yes it has! Still very nice cars but not a 205 and thinking about it will only go through the same if not worse with one, the 205 spark has been re-lit even going to curborough bright and early to ser my mates and watch pugs hooning around the track!

I'm only 5 minutes away so if you need a hand mate, just let me know. With regards machining, i'd recommend Automotive services in Northampton (http://www.automotive-services.co.uk/), they do a cracking job and Simon who runs the place owns a 205 gti. They are also used to having lots of Mi and 8v bits through the door. So you could get everything checked and any work done then take it up to Tom. He can also supply all gaskets and seals, think i may have the odd spare set of crank and liner seals if you need some.

cheers j thanks for the info mate and the kind offer was going to ask if you still had any seal because they are awesome. Funny you should mention automotive services my friend who is doing a mk1 golf has had a load of work done and speaks very highly of them, he did say he saw a lovely 205 there, will pop in for a chat in the week. brilliant Tom will see you tomorrow realy looking forward to it

update,

 

Been a busy bee, engine almost ready to come out, have got the ok for striping the engine at my parents so tea on tap will help things along.

 

Have been taking lots of pictures to do a build threat to help beginners like me.

 

The hint of hot weather makes me miss it even more.
