ORB 227 1 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 Depends on what your view of 'some' is!
dcc 855 Posted March 24, 2013 you'll probs have to fabricate a decent bracket to hold them, but I dont see why not. I am sure somebody has recently fitted a set of nissan 4 pots.
stu8v 68 1 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 Too big and too heavy. Not worth the aggro...
j_turnell 134 3 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 Personally i can't see the point when there are so many bolt on options available, plus i think most evo's run around a 315-320mm disk so wheel size could be a potential issue. Bigger isn't always better, the standard 247 mm setup with decent disks pads and fluid is very effective...
stef205 92 1 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 i have a set of nissan r33 gts 4 pots fitted on mine. My words to you would be if there cheap enough and you have the skills to make and fit them to your hubs then go for it, other wise i wouldnt bother. Ive excess to machinery which made it easier for me. My caliper are lighter than gti6 front calipers, and i have made them fit to 307 hdi discs. wheel offset will be the major factor in getting them to fit. mine work extremely well with a 406 non abs master cylinder. chipstick 382 1 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 Stef, how much lighter are they than GTi6 calipers? The discs are about a kilo a side heavier aren't they ?
stef205 92 1 Cars Posted March 24, 2013 yeah discs are heavier but i only weigh 9.5 stone so it wont effect it to much
welshpug 1,646 Posted March 25, 2013 Stef, how much lighter are they than GTi6 calipers? The discs are about a kilo a side heavier aren't they ? more like 2 kg IIRC, per side, which is rotating weight so even worse than unsprung. I did a similar comparison with 406 brembo's, total conversion weighed the same as a gti6 setup, and in reality hardly any more braking force and the added wheel clearance issues.
