Electric windows were standard fit on all 1.9 GTi models and optional on 1.6's

Full grey leathers were standard on the 1990 Phase 1.5 limited edition Miami Blue and Sorrento Green models, but not sure if they were ever a cost option on Phase 1.5's.

thanks dont supose any one knows if there is a way of finding spec of a car against reg ? ie optional extras etc and whether etching the reg on the glass was optional ? or a addition by alarm/security companies ?

Afternoon,

According to the original 1988/1989 brochure, the only manufacturing cost option on the 1.9 GTI was Metallic Paint (Black) and the sunroof. I have the reg etched into every window except the passenger door (replaced with wrong tint) and I was led to believe that this was a dealer option for added security.

In addition, I have no additional or any evidence of security devices fitted throughout its life.

Service box will spec check a car from the VIN for you.

Enter vin in top left corner

Click ok

On the left you will see 'Characteristics'

Click that

It's fairly limited in what it tells you on older cars though IIRC
