Sump Pressure

Recommended Posts

Jemehan

Hey guys, oil in the sump is coming out the dipstick when under accelleration. I'm suspecting head gasket however I have used steel seal to try fix it if it was that. Any other ideas what could cause that much pressure? If there is anything....

piston rings or stem seals, or a blocked breather.

I had similar problem with one engine. It had also gas in the oil sump so I thought that the piston rings were done.

Can't see it being steam seals to be honest

sounds like rings, breathing heavy, wont be valve steam seals. remove the breather pipes and check there not blocked. does it breath heavy with the oil cap off?

I'll check today to see, its always been a bit heavy breathing... I'm not getting smoke from exhaust that you'd normally get from the rings either...
