Only drive a 205 for the rest of your life, no other cars allowed.

Or

Never drive a 205 again, ever.

Serious question. 50 years of driving a 205 could get tiresome. I really don't know what I'd choose.

205!! Too much vehicular diarrhea out there these days, so at least I'd still be having fun with that choice! Plus no depreciation! :)

Godd question ! We all love our 205's, but when am driving mine around Ednburgh it just lacks the comfort and ease of my DS 3.

Sorry, but I'd rather never drive a 205 again. There's too many interesting cars I'd like to sample in my lifetime to commit to only one. That opinion is perhaps made easier for me since I've not driven mine for over 2 years and it didn't get regular use before that.

Still bloody love 'em, just not obsessed!

Good thing about 205's is they make a bloody good ornament.

So I think I'd choose never to drive one again but I'd insist on spending many hours working on and admiring them.

I'm with GLPoo... too many cars to sample out there to be stuck with the Pug forever. And life isn't a permanent rally stage, in which case I think I would get sick of the Pug pretty quickly - in any guise :)

The thought of driving it every day, commuting, going to the tip etc would drive me mad! So it would have to be never drive it again! On the condition that I could keep it.. I quite like just having it in the garage, dont really need to drive it that often! :D

Depends in what state....

Probably a no for me though, there are a plethora of BMWs, (classic and new) out there just waiting for me to lay some '11s' in.

Another vote for never. There are far too many cars past & present that I'd love to drive and I've no doubt that there are and will probably be cars that are better to drive. It's the same philosophy that I think causes people who get married young to end up getting divorced. "Do you only want to have sex with this one woman you love at this time for the rest of your life?" Hmm, let me think ab...NOOOOOO!!

If mine had power steering and a more powerful fan for cooling the inside down in the summer, not fussed over aircon on the 205 it would make it bearable for urban duties, but as Farmer says, my DS3 is so more practical, comfortable and arguably just as nice to look at.

For me at the moment my 205 is just akin to some garden furniture...when I bought it, i loved it to pieces, used it every day and showed it off, but now it sits there covered in dust and needing some love with me reminiscing over the journey back from when I bought it.

Now what if Peugeot brought out a new pumped up 205 like BMW did for the Mini and Fiat did the 500...would you then be crying sacrilage, but secretly yearn to own one for life?

The way I see this question/debate, is that it's not a matter of whether you love the 205 GTI enough to live with one for life. I'm sure we all could/would if we absolutely had to. But given the choice, do you really want to be tied down to one car for the rest of your life? No matter what car that is, just having one car for ever more would be so boring.

The majority of us members are proper car fanatics, not just 205 owners/enthusiasts. Unlike some other communities, we (generally) don't have that naive and narrow minded view that our favourite car is The Best Car In The World and that it'll never be bettered, or that we'll never change our taste and move on from it. Most of us love the 205 for what it is, recognising it's limitations and foibles, but as car fanatics I think we could all put together a 'short' list of hundreds of other cars we'd love to own in our lifetime.

EDIT: I've just realised I've possibly side tracked the debate slightly since the question was about whether you'd choose to never drive a 205 again, rather than owning one. But my original answer still stands.

Agreeing with poomobile, never, I love my 205 and always find a way back to it, but its stupidly temperamental, not an issue as I'm in my 20s but as time goes on I'd get hacked off!! If I didn't have my 205, is be jap driving, had a couple and they are just pleasant cars to be in (sports ones). For me when I got my current pug it was hard choice between s16 205 and twin turbo 300zx.... I'm so dumb to choose the pug, but its just too damn awesome!!! However back to the original question, never drive the pug again :(

Never again. I think there comes a time in life when you need other types of cars. For example an estate car for family stuff etc etc. Still love 205's though, covered a fair few miles this weekend and helped someone move house with mine. It's surprising how much stuff you can get in the back of one.
