Original Seats In 1.6/1.9

what are the original seats in a 1988 1.6 and 1.9 gti ie colour, style, pattern etc im looking to buy some half leathers and i would like to keep the car standard,did they do leathers in a 1.6.i had a look round and there are a few diifferent sorts thanks in advance

1988 1.6 has a grey and red check cloth seats, 1.9 has a grey half leather with a half light and half dark grey cloth divide by a red strip. I'd imagine you could've gotten a 1.6 with leather as it would have been a factory option after 86. I may be wrong..

In 1990 you got the seats firstly in the Phase 1.5 Those cars still had the grey dash but the black half leather. After that everything was black/red or black/green.

 

You need the Grey half leather for yours or the grey cloth.

leathers only came on the 1.9. 1.6 had cloth

Not a major difference in them to be fair. Always found the cloth a lot nicer to sit in.
