Bucket Seats On Standard Rails?

Recommended Posts

B11 BOB

Is it possible to fit Cobra bucket seats on standard sliding rails? I like to have have these fitted whilst still retaining the same sliding function has a original seat.Height shouldn't be a issue to me has I am 5ft 6 ive read that when 5ft 9 and above height is a issue as the seats sit higher than standard.

Bit impatient aren't we?

Of course it is possible, what you need to do is bolt the seat to the sub frame and put it in the car.....

On a more serious not, I assume they are base mounted seats not side mounts? You will have to make your own plates or brackets to fit them, at 5'6' you shouldn't have a problem. If the sub frames still have the tilting mechanism on them take them off and you will be good to go.

Standard addition to one of these questions - make sure your seat mounts under the carpet are in good condition and bent or out of shape as can easily happen.

You can also make your own frames and bolt the seat directly to the floor loosing the sliding function though, I did this and it was lower than standard and great for me at 6'5'.

Cheers Allye

They are side mounted seats so will the same method apply ? And thanks for the prompt reply.

Lowercase

you might get lucky with the base dimensions then, and you can just use some standard universal runners off ebay, might be able to go straight to the floor.

trail and error and trail and error.

Strengthen the floor at the very least, most mounts now show stress cracks

Don't Cobra do a tailored sliding seat frame for the 205 that bolts directly into the standard mounting points?

I bought a Cobra Monaco Pro for my Saxo VTS and also sourced the correct Cobra seat mount that had the sliding fuction so long as the seat was base mounted.
