Engine Start Problems.

Hello

I'm fairly new here on Gti drivers but am on another site for a wee while.

I am in the process of restoring a 205 Phase 1.5 Gti 1.9.

I have had the head done, and it's all back together.

I have a complete set of silicone hoses including SAD hoses fitted.

Now before i took the car off the road, it had been difficult to start when cold.

It now still is, but when warm it's sound.

I have changed the SAD for a second hand unit which was rebuilt and assured fully functional.

I am just sounding you guys out to see is the anything i could be overlooking?

I did not do a throttle setup as per haynes manual as of yet as i do not have access to the car currently.

Any ideas????

Check the SAD is plugged into the correct plug (not the blue one for the ECU temp sender) also check for 12v and gnd on the two pins of the plug when the ignition is on.

When you say difficult to start, what are the symptoms?

Starting but refusing to idle, turning over and not firing, or turning over and trying to start but reluctant to do so?

Cheers for the replys lads, appreciate it.

I have the right plug connected but will check the 12v and ground.

What i mean difficult to start is it will turn and attempt to fire but is reluctant to do so. It may take a good few time but will fire once you keep the foot down on the throttle.
