Can Throttle Body Shaft Seals Be Replaced On A Standard Mi16 Throttle

Does anyone know if you can change the throttle body shaft seal on a standard mi16 throttle body as I have a vacuum leak on mine were the accelerator cable connects to.

 

Also if you can replace them does anyone know were to source some seals and possibly a new joint?

 

If not does anyone know were I can source a new throttle body or get mine refurbished?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

I looked into this some time ago. I'm sure you can get the seals/bearings, the problem was the actual shafts as they wear too. This led me to investigate using shafts from Weber carbs but, after a visit to a Weber spares shop in Reading, I gave up.

 

Ended up shoving a GTi6 manifold on instead.

Yes. You have to make a plate for the Mi16 TPS to mount on to, and play about with the breather hoses but it worked. There are a couple of threads about it if you do a search.

do you know if its possible to use the 8v ecu if u swap to a gti6 manifold?
